  • Global chat has distance checks (As the /say chat as seen in WoW)
  • Yell chat has a further distance than Global chat
  • Server authoritative messages (Safe whispering)
  • Chat bubble always faces the player (Screen space)
  • Chat bubble is only visible for a certain duration
  • Chat bubble includes distance detection (optimized, no overlap volumes used)
  • Chat bubble includes blocking objects detection using traces (optimized)
  • Chat fading functionality. Chat appears when a message is received, fades after a while.
  • Chat panel automatically gets cleaned up after a defined limit of messages has been reached.
  • Automatic chat focusing when the player presses a defined button. (By default Enter)
  • Command detection
  • Invalid command detection
  • Chat state switch detection (Detect when a user intends to switch his/her chat state: /s, /y, /w)
  • Commands are managed using a data table. Easily extendable/modifiable
  • Colored chat based on the message type
